Born of Osiris, Illinois’ sensational progressive metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
The band was formed in Palatine (a suburb of Chicago) in 2003 and went through many name changes over years; Diminished (2003–2004), Your Heart Engraved (2004–2006), and Rosecrance (2006–2007). The name Born of Osiris is based on the Egyptian deity Osiris, and the tale of his son Horus. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Joe Buras (keyboards, synthesizers, and vocals), Ronnie Canizaro (lead vocals), Cameron Losch (drums), David Da Rocha (bass), and Lee McKinney (guitars). Their musical style falls under the genres progressive metal (a blend of heavy metal and progressive rock which combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental compositions of the latter), deathcore (an extreme metal fusion genre that combines the characteristics of death metal and metalcore and sometimes hardcore punk), and technical death metal (a subgenre of death metal that focuses on complex rhythms, riffs and song structures). They cite bands such as Meshuggah, Cannibal Corpse, Converge, Hatebreed, Slayer, and The Mars Volta as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 7 music videos, 1 extended play, and 4 demo tapes.
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to progressive metal, technical death metal, and deathcore!
