Dan Tyminski, Vermont's sensational bluegrass artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Daniel John "Dan" Tyminski was born in Rutland (Vermont) in 1967 and is a composer, vocalist, and instrumentalist. He’s best known as a member of Union Station (a bluegrass and country band associated with singer Alison Krauss) and he’s also the frontman and lead guitarist of his own group (the Dan Tyminski Band) featuring Ron Stewart on banjo, Adam Steffey on mandolin, Justin Moses on fiddle and dobro, and Barry Bales on upright bass. His popularity grew even further as the singing voice of George Clooney in the 2000 adventure film O Brother, Where Art Thou. The film’s soundtrack won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. He's had a stellar career with 4 studio albums (1 of which topped Billboard's Top Bluegrass Albums chart), 2 singles, and he's performed at Ultra Music Festival. He's the featuring artist on Swedish electronic dance music producer Avicii's 2013 single, Hey Brother. It was a top 5 hit in Australia (#2 and certified Platinum), Austria (#1), Belgium, Denmark (#4), Finland, Germany (#1 and certified Gold), the Netherlands (#1), New Zealand (#4), Norway (#1), Sweden (#1 and certified double Platinum), Switzerland (#2 and certified Gold), Slovakia, Macedonia and the United Kingdom (#2 and certified Silver).
