Delta Rae, North Carolina's sensational folk and rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Delta Rae was formed in Durham (North Carolina) in 2009 by siblings Ian, Eric, and Brittany Hölljes along with Elizabeth Hopkins. The band takes its name from a fictional story (told by the siblings’ mother) about a Southern girl named Delta Rae who summons the Greek gods to earth. Their musical style is best described as a blend of blues rock (a fusion genre combining elements of blues and rock, characterized by bluesy improvisation, the twelve bar blues, extended boogie jams typically focused on the electric guitar player, and often a heavier, riff oriented sound), country rock (a subgenre of popular music, formed from the fusion of rock and country, developed by rock musicians who started using country themes, vocal styles, and additional instrumentation, most notably, pedal steel guitars), roots rock (a subgenre of rock music that takes inspiration from various American musical traditions such as country, blues, and folk), and folk rock. The band currently consists of Ian (vocals and guitar), Eric (vocals, guitar, piano and keys), Brittany (vocals), Elizabeth (vocals), Mike McKee (percussion), and Grant Emerson (bass guitar). They’ve had a stellar career with 2 studio albums, 1 live album, 2 extended plays, 4 singles, and 5 music videos.
