Sensational hip hop artists Joyner Lucas and Dizzy Wright are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Joyner Lucas was born in Worcester (Massachusetts) in 1988 and is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His musical style is best described as a blend of East Coast hip hop (a style that originated in the New York City area during the 1970s - prioritizing complex lyrics for attentive listening rather than beats for dancing - and only became a distinct subgenre after artists from other regions of the United States emerged with different styles), gangsta rap (a subgenre of hip hop music - pioneered in the mid-1980s by rappers such as Schoolly D and Ice-T, and was popularized in the later part of the 1980s by groups like N.W.A - with themes and lyrics that generally emphasize the criminal gang lifestyle), and hardcore rap (a subgenre of rap characterized by confrontation and aggression, whether in the lyrical subject matter, the hard, driving beats, the noisy sampling and production, or any combination thereof). He's had a stellar career with 5 mix tapes (one of which hit #7 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart), 12 singles, and he's collaborated with many renowned artists such as Trae tha Truth, Tech N9ne, and Logic.
