Dopapod, Colorado’s sensational progressive rock and dance music artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
The band was formed in 2007 and consists of Eli Winderman (keyboards), Rob Compa (guitar), Chuck Jones (bass), Neal "Fro" Evans (drums), and Luke Stratton (sound and lights). Their musical style can be best described as blend of progressive rock (a broad subgenre of rock music that grew out of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard traditions in favor of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music) and dance music. They’ve performed at many renowned festivals such as Wakarusa, Summer Camp, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Peach Fest, and Gathering Of the Vibes. They’ve also earned praise from the media, in well known publications such as Huffington Post, Jambase, and Relix. Their wide range of influences are evident in the distinct voice and crafty songwriting of their latest album, Never Odd Or Even. Rob said in an interview, “We really felt that the material this time around represented a big leap forward, not just in the way we’ve been interacting as a band, but in the way our focus has become sharper in paying attention to things like melody, theme, lyrical imagery, and structure – all the elements that make a great song.”
