Futuristic, Illinois' sensational hip hop artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Futuristic (birth name Zachary Lewis Beck) was born in Bloomington (Illinois) in 1991 and is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He started rapping when he was in the first grade and went on to create a musical style that's best described as a blend of underground rap (a label used to refer to rappers who are brazenly anti commercial and/or proudly independent, indifferent to the exposure promised by major label promotion and distribution), alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music), and hardcore rap (a genre characterized by confrontation and aggression, whether in the lyrical subject matter, the hard, driving beats, the noisy sampling and production, or any combination thereof). He’s had a stellar career with 7 studio albums (3 of which were top 15 hits on both of Billboard's Top R&B and Hip Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts), 2 extended plays, 20 singles, and he's collaborated with many renowned artists such as Dizzy Wright, Jarren Benton, Devvon Terrell, Layzie Bone, Collins, J Rob the Chief, Tech N9ne, and A Great Big World.
