Intervals, Canada's sensational progressive metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Intervals started off in Toronto (Canada) in 2011 as a solo musical project by guitarist Aaron Marshall after he quit his previous band, Speak of the Devil. He turned the project into a band by recruiting bassist Matt De Luca, vocalist and bassist Mike Semesky, guitarist Lukas Guyader, and drummer/percussionist Anup Sastry. However, the band didn't last very long and since 2015, it went back to Aaron's solo project. His musical style is best described as a blend of progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter), djent (a style of progressive metal named for an onomatopoeia for the distinctive high gain, distorted, palm muted, low pitch guitar sound first employed by bands Meshuggah and SikTh), and instrumental. He's had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 2 singles, 6 music videos, and he's toured with many renowned bands such as Animals as Leaders, Protest The Hero, Between The Buried and Me, and The Contortionist. When performing live, Aaron is joined by Plini Roessler Holgate (guitar), Nathan Bulla (drums), Simon Grove (bass), Sam Jacobs (guitar), and Jacob Umansky (bass).
