Nemr Abou Nassar, Lebanon’s sensational and multi talented comedian is bringing his indelible comedy to the Wilbur Theater!
Nemr Abou Nassar was born in Beirut (Lebanon) in 1983 and moved to the United States with his family in 1985 to escape the Lebanese civil war. He grew up in San Diego and eventually became an American citizen. He moved back to Lebanon in 1993 and went on to become a professional stand up comedian in an effort to spread a sense of unity. He created a brand of comedy based on the motto “No Politics, No Religion, One Love”, with the aim of creating dialogue, removing prejudice, and bringing people together. He made his professional debut in 2007 at the Cafe Rue 75 at Hotel de Ville in Achrafieh, Lebanon. He went on to produce and star in the sold out Beirut Stand Up Comedy Festival and the Middle East's first live comedy radio show (The Comedy Revolution) on Mix FM. He began to get international recognition and it wasn’t long before he was selling out shows at prestigious venues such as Caroline’s in New York, the Wilbur Theatre in Boston, and the Novo (formerly Club Nokia) in Los Angeles. He’s had a stellar career with 7 comedy specials and he’s also appeared on CNN and on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
