PnB Rock, Pennsylvania’s sensational R&B and hip hop artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!

PnB Rock (birth name Rakim Hasheem Allen) was born in Pittsburgh in 1991 and is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. His stage name is an acronym for Pastorius and Baynton (a street corner near where he grew up) and he grew up listening to Tupac Shakur and Jodeci. When he was 19, he went to prison for drug possession and that’s where he started to write songs. He released his debut mixtape RNB (Real Nigga Bangaz) in 2014 and followed it up with another one a year later. His musical style is best described as a blend of contemporary R&B (a genre that combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul, funk, pop, hip hop, and dance) and hardcore rap (a genre characterized by confrontation and aggression, whether in the lyrical subject matter, the hard, driving beats, the noisy sampling and production, or any combination thereof). It wasn’t long before he got a record deal and his breakthrough came in 2015 with the single Jealous (featuring Fetty Wap). His debut studio album (GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions) came out in January 2017 and hit #7 and #10 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums and Top R&B and Hip Hop Albums charts respectively.

Don’t miss your chance to see this artist add a unique touch to contemporary R&B and hardcore rap music!
