Pop Evil, Michigan’s sensational hard rock, alternative metal, and post grunge artists are bringing their signature sounds to Gramercy Theater!
The band was formed in Muskegon (Michigan) in 2001 by lead vocalist Leigh Kakaty. He recruited rhythm guitarist Dave Grahs, drummer Dylan Allison, bassist Jamie Nummer (all of whom were members of other Michigan bands), along with lead guitarist Tony Greve (as a temporary studio musician) to complete the band’s line up. In 2005, they released their debut extended play (Ready or Not) and it wasn’t long before they got a record deal with the independent record label Pazzo Music. They released their debut studio album (Lipstick on the Mirror) in 2008 and it brought them mainstream recognition with its hit tracks Hero, Somebody Like You, 100 in a 55, and Stepping Stone. Their next album (War of Angels) came out in 2011 and hit #43 on the US Billboard 200 chart as well as topping Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart. They went on to have a stellar career with 2 more studio albums, 11 more singles, and they’ve performed with many renowned bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage (with its original lineup), Trivium, Emmure, God Forbid, Battlecross, Drowning Pool, Trust Company, Anew Revolution, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, and many others.
