Skid Row, New Jersey’s sensational pop metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
The band was formed in Toms River (New Jersey) in 1986 by bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave ‘The Snake’ Sabo. They recruited guitarist Scotti Hill, drummer Rob Affuso, and lead vocalist singer Matt Fallon and started honing their craft in clubs throughout the eastern United States. 2 years later, they were signed by Atlantic Records and their eponymous debut studio album came out in 1989. It hit #6 on the US Billboard 200 chart and 2 of its singles were top 10 hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart. Over the years their musical style has spanned many genres such as heavy metal, glam metal (a genre that blends heavy metal and hard rock, adding blues and catchy pop influenced hooks and guitar riffs, while borrowing from the fashion of 1970s glam rock), and pop metal (the least metallic variation of heavy metal, with huge, catchy hooks that borrowed heavily from the fist pumping choruses of arena rock). The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Rachel (bass and vocals), Dave (guitar and backing vocals), Scotti (guitar and backing vocals), Rob Hammersmith (drums), and ZP Theart (vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums.
