Sensational Southern rock and alternative rock artists Whiskey Myers and Goodbye June are bringing their signature sounds to the Gramercy Theater!
Whiskey Myers was formed in Elkhart (Texas) in 2008 by long time friends Cody Cannon and Cody Tate began playing guitar together. Inspired by the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, and many other southern rock and country artists, they decided to form a band. Joining Cannon (lead vocals and acoustic guitar) and Tate (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and backing vocals) were John Jeffers (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and backing vocals), Jeff Hogg (drums), and Cannon’s cousin Gary Brown on bass. Their musical style falls under the genres Southern rock (a subgenre of rock music that developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues, and is generally focused on electric guitar and vocals), Red Dirt (a genre that gets its name from the color of soil found in Oklahoma and was popularized by the late Oklahoman singer/songwriter Bob Childers), and country. They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums (2 of which landed in the top 10 of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart) and 5 music videos. They’ve been called “the real damn deal” by Esquire magazine and Playboy has crowned them “the new bad boys of country music.”
Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to Southern rock and country music!
